The Christmas countdown is now in full swing – and whilst some of you have undoubtedly already got your shopping sorted, we’d be willing to bet there’s still a fair few of you who have left it until the last minute. If that’s the case, then check out our Christmas gift guide for a little inspiration on what to get the tradesperson in your life.
However, although it’s the most wonderful time of year, we know that Christmas is often the priciest period as well – regardless of who you’re buying for or when you do your shopping. So an end-of-year bonus from HMRC could certainly come in handy!
Luckily for some of you, the tax elves are feeling rather festive this year, meaning millions of workers – including those in construction – could be able to claim a rebate this winter, according to a recent article by On the Tools.
If you’re paid via PAYE, you may be able to claim tax relief on the following things:
- Replacing/repairing small tools needed to do your job
- Repairing, cleaning or replacing specialist clothing
- Business mileage (not including commuting)
